BRIGHT Akhuetie was again a tower of power for University of Perpetual Help as he fired 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Altas turned back Far Eastern University, 70-64, in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
The 6-foot-7 Akhuetie led the way for the Altas, who soar to their fifth straight win.
“If he keeps playing the way he's playing, we'll have a chance to contend for the title in the NCAA,” admitted Perpetual Help coach Aric Del Rosario.
Akhuetie got plenty of help from the Altas as Gab Dagangon had nine points and 11 rebounds, while Kevin Oliveria added 10 boards.
“They've worked hard in practice and their hardwork is starting to pay off,” said Del Rosario, referring to Dagangon and Oliveria.
Mike Tolomia and Russel Escoto each had 15 points for the Tamaraws, who dropped to an even 3-3 slate.
