FAR Eastern University remained unbeaten in the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup as it kept Jose Rizal University winless with an 87-85 win on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

The Tamaraws had a balanced offense, with five players notching double digits, led by the trio of Hubert Cani, Joseph Nunang and Bradrey Bienes who all scored 13 points apiece.

They held off a late push from the Heavy Bombers, who had a shot at the buzzer for the win but MJ dela Virgen missed a try from beyond the arc.

The Tamaraws improved to 3-0.

"Ang daming shooters ng JRU. We have to work on our halfcourt defense. Gave up too many open threes. Ang dami nilang na shoot," said FEU coach Olsen Racela.

The Heavy Bombers made 9 of 21 three-point attempts.

"We need to make it hard for them, especially against a team na maraming shooters," Racela added.

Jasper Parker added 12 points and four assists, while Kenneth Tuffin had 11.

Ry dela Rosa scored 18 as Jed Mendoza added 17 points, with the two going a combined 6 for 10 from downtown but that wasn't enough to keep the Bombers from absorbing their third loss in as many games.

Meanwhile, National University beat Emilio Aguinaldo College, 96-84, in a battle of winless teams.

Chino Mosqueda led a balanced attack for the Bulldogs with 18 points as John Lloyd Clemente finished with 17.
