WITH no major brands buying in on a partnership deal, LaVar Ball’s Big Baller Brand went on to make its own path in unveiling his son, top NBA draft pick prospect Lonzo Ball’s first signature shoe ZO2 Prime on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).
The ZO2 Prime in the initial ‘Wet’ colorway features a ‘microfiber python texture’ in matte black, and sells for a whopping $495, almost triple the price of more established cagers’ sneakers like LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
In comparison, Jordan shoes have only sold as high as $400 for a pair released en masse to the market.

The expensive price tag turned heads of some critics, like NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Hey @Lavarbigballer real big baller brands don't over charge kids for shoes. pic.twitter.com/N2U0VPXXyt

But Big Baller Brand CEO LaVar had a quick response.
Big Baller's loose! If you can't afford the ZO2'S, you're NOT a BIG BALLER! ????

It remains to be seen how the shoe will perform in sales but what’s expected is Lonzo will be among the top 3 candidates in the upcoming NBA draft on June 22.
