BAGUIO CITY — La Salle Greenhills earned the first berth in the finals of the Small Basketeers Philippines (SBP) division in the BEST Center SBP-Passerelle Twin Tournament sponsored by MILO on Saturday at the Easter College Gym.
The Greenies, who earned a seat from the National Capital Region (NCR) qualifiers, swept their two games on Saturday to claim a seat in the championship game to be played on Sunday and will be telecast via live stream on Spin.ph.
Kenji Duremdes, son of PBA legend Kenneth Duremdes, topscored with 16 points when the Greenies beat Mindanao winner Ateneo De Davao, 64-46.
Earlier, Mark Torrijos had 28 points while Duremdes had 14 points as the Greenies survived a third-quarter run by Visayas champion Ateneo De Iloilo to pull off a 70-61 win.

Ateneo De Iloilo and Berkeley School Baguio dispute the last seat in the finals when they play separate opponents on Sunday morning in the SBP division. Both teams have a 1-1 record but Ateneo De Iloilo beat Berkeley, 64-52, to gain the tiebreak edge.
Ateneo De Iloilo faces Ateneo De Davao while Berkeley has La Salle Greenhills as its final assignement.
Berkeley, the so-called ‘home team’ of the tournament after topping the Luzon qualifiers, beat Ateneo De Davao, 55-43.
