BOTTOM-seed Daegu KOGAS Pegasus stunned third-running Seoul SK Knights, 86–80, behind a stellar performance from SJ Belangel in the Korean Basketball League at the Daegu Gymnasium.
Belangel erupted for 27 points to go with four rebounds and one assist, outplaying Arvin Tolentino, who was held to just eight points and one assist.
The victory lifted Daegu to a 13–30 record, while Seoul remained solo third at 27–16.
KQ keeps Goyang in the hunt
Meanwhile, Kevin Quiambao caught fire, unloading 20 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one steal to power Goyang Sono Skygunners past the Seoul Samsung Thunders, 86–64, and keep their playoff hopes alive.
Justin Gutang paced the Thunders with seven points, four rebounds, and three assists in the loss.
In another game, league-leading Changwon LG Sakers cruised to a 94–74 win over the Busan KCC Egis, though it was a quiet outing for Carl Tamayo, who managed just four points, three rebounds, and two assists in 17 minutes.
William Navarro had six points and two assists for Busan.
Elsewhere, Anyang KGC rolled past Wonju DB Promy, 89–59, to move within one game of Seoul and secure solo second in the standings.
Rhenz Abando contributed five points, one rebound, and one assist for Anyang, as Ethan Alvano posted five points, four rebounds, and two assists for Wonju.
