BATANG Gilas, the youth team of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), will be conducting tryouts for the U18 Southeast Asia Basketball (Seaba) and Fiba-Asia tournaments in 2016, team manager Andrew Teh announced.
The tryouts will be held from December 18-20 at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City. Only Filipino citizens born from 1998 and 1999 are eligible to join the tryouts, which will be supervised by Batang Gilas head coach Michael Oliver.
Players who will be joining the tryouts are required to present a NSO-authenticated birth certificates upon registration, for proof of eligibility.
The tryouts will start at 8 p.m. on December 18 for players born in the months of January to April for the years 1998 and 1999. For Batang Gilas hopefuls born from May to August of 1998 and 1999, the process resumes at 5 p.m. on December 19.
The last day of tryouts, set for players born from September to December of 1998 and 1999, begins at 4 p.m. on December 20.
