BATAAN scored a 94-81 victory over Caloocan on Tuesday night for their 13th straight win in the MPBL Datu Cup at the Batangas City Coliseum.
The Risers improved their win-loss record to 13-1 to tighten their grip on the top spot.
The loss was the 11th in 15 games for the Supremos, and need to win their remaining games to keep alive their chances of making the top eight.
Host Batangas City also kept its winning run, overcoming Zamboanga, 104-93.
The Athletics hit 16 treys, the most in two conferences of the MPBL, on the way to their sixth consecutive win.
Batangas City improved to 10-6 for third spot in the southern division. Zamboang dropped to 6-9 and remained in ninth spot.
Val Acuña hit five triples on his way to finishing 19 points.
Acuña’s game was overshadowed by Jeff Viernes’ explosive game as the spitfire guard knocked in 26 points, including a torrid 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.
