    Bacoor defeats Quezon City for third straight win in Metro League

    BACOOR continued to impress, beating Quezon City, 83-81, in the Metro League Reinforced Conference on Tuesday night at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

    The Strikers remained unbeaten in three games as four players scored in double figures for led by King Descamanto with an efficient 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists in just 13 minutes of action against QC.

    Paolo Castro added 15 points and three assists, while RJ Ramirez and Mark Doligon chipped in 10 points apiece for Bacoor Strike sa Serbisyo.

    The Strikers took a 82-74 lead with 1:29 remaining before the Junior Capitals stormed back with a 7-1 run capped by Roque Estoce's and-one in the last 41 seconds to trim the deficit, 81-83.

    Quezon City, however, could not convert in its potential game-tying possession with Jefferson Comia committing an error.

    Estoce scored 18 and Comia had 17 points for Quezon City which slid to 2-2 in the North Division.

    The Strikers lead South Division of the M-League backed by the Metro Manila Development Authority, Philippine Basketball Association with Barangay 143 as league presentor.

    The Manila-INGCO Stars finally scored a breakthrough win, 95-73, over the winless Pateros-Metro Asia. Host team Caloocan also did not disappoint in front of its home fans with a thrilling 77-76 victory over reigning all-Filipino titlist Valenzuela.

    Former PBA player Carlo Lastimosa posted 23 points, three rebounds and three assists in just 18 minutes of play while import Moustaph Arafat put up 15 points, 16 rebounds and four assists as the Manila-INGCO Stars improved to 1-2.

    Eric Mabazza 16 points for Pateros, winless with a 0-2 record in the tournament that has Synergy 88, World Balance, Excellent Noodles and San Miguel Corporation as major sponsors.

    The Supremos leaned on a balanced attack, with Joseph Brutaas delivering 21 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals, and four others scoring in double figures.

    Robbi Darang added 18 points and 10 assists for Caloocan which improved to 2-2 in the league also backed by SMS Global Technologies, Inc., Spalding, Team Rebel Sports and PLDT.

    Reneford Ruaya collected 20 points and 10 rebounds for Valenzuela, which slipped to 1-1 in the tournament is also supported by Gerry’s Grill, Summit Water, Alcoplus and Nature’s Spring.
