AN Under-18 basketball team from New South Wales is in the country for a series of goodwill games with professional and college teams.
The youth team from the Australian College of Basketball, whose program ambassador is no less than three-time NBA champion Luc Longley of the Chicago Bulls, will face Barangay Ginebra on Tuesday at the San Andres Gym and Petron on Thursday at the Acropolis Gym.
The Australian College of Basketball provides top students high-performance basketball training along with classroom discussions about basketball, sports science and business.
The delegation led by head coach Phil Smyth along with officials of Basketball New South Wales paid a courtesy call on Philippine Sports Commission chairman Ricardo Garcia on Monday morning after a match with Trace College.
The team will also play college teams from Arellano, STI, Mapua and Technological Institute of the Philippines.
