MANILA South bowed to Auckland of New Zealand, 14-21, on Saturday in the 2015 Fiba 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters at the Robinsons’ Place in Manila.

Auckland bounced back from its loss to reigning Manila Masters champion Manila West at the expense of Manila South, a team mostly composed of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu high schoolers that won the national 3-on-3 event.

Manila South coach Jerry Abuyador, however, was satisfied with the play of his wards who kept the game close in the early goings despite being the youngest team in the competition.

“They did their best. There is no other satisfaction when you did your best,” said Abuyador. “We are investing in these kids for the future of Philippine basketball.”

Manila South takes on the Manila North squad composed of Calvin Abueva, Vic Manuel, Karl Dehesa, and Troy Rosario.

“We will still be focused,” said Abuyador.
