    Ateneo, Xavier set up title clash for Under-13 title in Got Skill Basketball Showdown

    ATENEO and Xavier routed their semifinal opponents to arrange an interesting title showdown in the 13-under division of the Got Skills Basketball Showdown Season Two at the Xavier gym.

    With John Fetalvero leading the way with nine points and 12 rebounds, the Eaglets drubbed Chiang Kai Shek, 61-32, in a fitting follow up to their 66-29 rout of St. Jude in the quarterfinals.

    Xavier meanwhile, got 10 points from Miguel Roy Luis Tan in a 51-25 drubbing of La Salle Greenhills Pava. The Xavier dribblers earlier slammed ISB Lucena in the quarterfinals, 55-28.

    Michael John Flores exploded for 24 points as AMA turned back Xavier, 80-77, to set up a title duel with St. Jude in the 17-under category of the tournament backed by No Curfew Watch Store, Wize and Ope Watch, Chris Sports and Sklz.

    St. Jude for its part, edged out Ateneo Prada, 58-52, as Renzel Yongco did the most damage with 25 points.

    AMA was seeded to the semis outright after a six-game sweep of the elimination round, while  St. Jude made it after walloping Ateneo Paya, 54-33, with the high-scoring Yongco delivering the goods for 19 points.

    In the 11-under category, Ryley Tuason sizzled for 19 points as Xavier sent another team to the finals with a 43-31 bashing of Ateneo A.

    Xavier will meet La Salle Greenhills SBP for the championship after the Greenies waylaid Marist, 66-48, with Mark Anjelo Torruos serving as the glue that kept the team together with 10 points and a game-high 12 assists.

    In the quarterfinals, Xavier slammed Ateneo B, 49-25, on the strength of Asiah Inductivo's 10-point output, while Torruos was at the helm of La Salle Greenhills’ 68-30 thrashing of St. Jude after leading the team with 13 points.

    La Salle Greenhills A edged San Beda Taytay, 44-40, while Chiang Kai Shiek dumped National University, 46-34, to set up a title clash in the 15-under bracket.

    Benedict Angelo Cruz had 10 points and six boards to lead LSGH, which survived College of Saint Benildo-Rizal, 43-41, in the quarterfinals.

    Jonas Tibayan meanwhile, unleashed 22 points and 13 boards to pace CKSC, which smashed LSGH B, 47-23, in the previous game.

    The finals schedule on Saturday pit LSGH A against CKSC at 8 a.m (15-under), LSGH B versus Xavier at 9:30 a.m. (11-under), Ateneo against Xavier at 11 a.m. (13-under), and St. Jude versus AMA at 2 p.m. (17-under) at Xavier Sports Complex's wooden court.
