The Seoul SK Knights import guided the all-Filipino Team Asia to an 82-79 conquest of Team Rookie on Saturday in the KBL All-Star Weekend at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul.
Tolentino uncorked 19 points and 14 rebounds in the midseason exhibition to be hailed as the MVP.
The win mirrored that of their counterparts in the Japan B.League as the squad entirely made up of Filipino reinforcements beat out some of the top young guns from Korea.
Busan KCC Egis' William Navarro corralled 22 points, five assists, and four boards to lead the way, as Goyang Sono Skygunners' Kevin Quiambao (14) and Seoul Samsung Thunders' Justin Gutang (10) also breached double figures in scoring.
Pioneer Filipino import SJ Belangel of Daegu KOGAS Pegasus had nine points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals in the win.
Jake makes KBL debut
Jake Figueroa finally made his debut in Korea, playing alongside his kuyas and produced three points, one assist, and one steal in the contest just two days after arriving in the Land of the Morning Calm.
That victory came even with Carl Tamayo and Rhenz Abando sitting the game out due to undisclosed injuries.
