ARELLANO hacked out a 75-69 come-from-behind victory over San Sebastian for its breakthrough win in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup on Thursday.
Sans Kent Salado who is still in Cagayan de Oro for a short vacation, the Chiefs leaned on last year's NCAA Most Improved Player Archie Concepcion as he dropped 21 points and five rebounds.
Rence Alcoriza added 15 points and three assists, as Alfren Gayosa had nine points and four boards to give coach Cholo Martin his first win in the summer league.
Arellano also survived the absence of Justin Arana, who suffered a knee injury in the first half.
RK Ilagan topped the Golden Stags with 21 points on a 5-of-12 shooting from downtown, on top of three assists.
Allyn Bulanadi also had 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals as San Sebastian suffered its first loss in four outings in Group A.
In the nightcap, National University was rewarded with its third win in five assignments as St. Benilde was forced to forfeit the game by default due to its PBA D-League commitments.
