ANGELO Kouame lorded over La Salle in overtime as Ateneo hacked out a thrilling 81-75 win in the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup on Tuesday in San Juan.
There was no stopping the center from Ivory Coast as he scored Ateneo’s first eight points in overtime including six straight to put the Blue Eagles ahead, 79-75, with 39 seconds left.
With La Salle running on fumes, Gian Mamuyac and Thirdy Ravena drained one free throw apiece to formally ice a well-fought game that was forced into an extension period after Jollo Go hit an undergoal stab with .3 of a second left.
But that was all the fight that La Salle could give as Kouame dominated on the inside to tow the Blue Eagles to their ninth win in as many games.
The Green Archers dropped to 7-2.
