ANALYN Almazan has played in a bigger basketball stage before, but admitted the 2016 PBA All-Stars is an altogether different experience.
"Iba po kasi ito kasi syempre, PBA ito tapos All-Stars pa. Nakaka-proud sa pakiramdam namin," said the women's national team mainstay.
Almazan said she consideres herself lucky to be chosen as an All-Star in the inaiugural women's 5x5 All-Star on Sunday at the Big Dome.
"Masuwerte po akong isa ako sa mga nakuha," added the NLEX cager, who finished with 14 points and seven rebounds in the Light team's 43-35 win over the Dark squad.
Ewon Arayi echoed her sentiments, adding the 24-minute game that ushered in the weekend spectacle's main event was an "opportunity to show that women can play basketball, too."
"We're happy and excited. Kahit tapos na yung game we're still very grateful for this opportunity to showcase our talent, to show that women can play basketball too," she said.
Almazan added, "malaki pong motivation ito para sa mga babae, para makita nila na may naglalarong babae at (maengganyo) sila mag-tryout."
