AMA University defeated Bulacan State University, 112-95, on Wednesday night to claim its first victory in the 2017 Republica Cup collegiate division tournament at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.
Jayson Jordan had 25 points including eight in the key third period that saw the Titans score 42 points to take an 88-75 lead.
Coleng Garcia had 17 points, while Jezer Calma and Joseph Celso each had 13 markers for the Titans in picking up their first win after a loss in the opener.
UCBL Most Valuable Player Dominick Fajardo tallied 22 points, while Kenneth Reyes chipped in 16 points for the Gold Gears, who slipped to 0-3.
