ALVIN Abundo drained a crucial triple to help San Juan to an 83-81 win over FSD Makati Army to join the share of the lead in the Filbasket Subic Championship at the Subic Bay Gymnasium.
Abundo finished with 10 points, hitting a triple with 36.4 seconds left that gave the Knights an 82-78 lead.
San Juan though still had to survive some anxious moments, as Jopher Custodio missed a last-second three in the final possession of the contest.
The Knights now hold a 4-1 win-loss record for joint first place with Davao Occidental and AICC Manila.
Jhonard Clarito led San Juan with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Orlan Wamar had 14 points for the Knights.

FSD Makati-Army fell to 1-4.
Patrick Cabahug had 31 points, Simon Camacho had 10 points and 20 rebounds as Medical Depot won over MTrans Buracai De Laiya-Batangas City Tanduay Athletics, 99-93.
Jeymark Mallari had 16 points, while Lorenzo Navarro had 10 points and 10 assists as Burlington EOG beat Muntinlupa Defenders, 103-67.
Medical Depot and Burlington EOG both have 3-1 records.
The Athletics dropped to 2-3, while the Defenders are now 0-5.
