ORGANIZERS have set a second basketball clinic when Allen Iverson visits the country next month to accommodate adults.
The clinic, open to players aged 20 and above, is slated Nov. 5 at the MOA Arena. A clinic for children aged 10 to 15 will be held on November 3 in Quezon City.
The event is part of Iverson’s “All In” basketball event for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga.
The former NBA MVP will coach the Ball Up Streetball All-Stars, who will banner Team Gawad Kalinga, against Team PCWorx composed of PBA players and UAAP stars led by MVP Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo. The team will be reinforced by former NBA players Eddy Curry and DerMarr Johnson.
“It’s always a privilege for me to go out there and share my love and passion for basketball,” said Iverson in a telephone interview.
“This won’t be just an ordinary basketball clinic, I’ll be sharing with them not just my knowledge in basketball, but also a part of myself. This is my way of saying thank you to my fans who stood by me through the years.”
Fee for the clinic is P5,000 inclusive of snacks, T-shirt, certificate, a free basketball clinic ticket for spectators and a free general admission ticket to the main event. Registration is open until Oct. 25. Those interested to sign up may call (02) 575-1520.
Tickets to the “All In” fundraiser are still available online at www.smtickets.com, all SM Tickets outlets, and select PCWorx branches.
