EVERYTHING is set for the staging of the 2nd Dickies-Filipino-Chinese Basketball League Women’s Cup, with Far Eastern University determined to prove its claim as the country’s No. 1 team starting Saturday at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City.

FEU opens its title-retention bid against College of St. Benilde at 3 p.m.

Led by Allana Lim, Soc Borja, Karen Columna and Camille Sambile, the Lady Tamaraws beat La Salle in the finals for their second straight and 11th overall UAAP championship. WNCAA and NAASCU champion Centro Escolar University battles Adamson in the opening game.

Other teams taking part in the tournament are University of Santo Tomas, La Salle, Ateneo and Lyceum.

The Lady Tamaraws won the inaugural championship last year also at the expense of the Lady Archers in the event presented by Dickies through the help of Jose Atienza, CEO of American Star Apparel Philippines.

“It’s out way in helping women’s basketball in the country,” said Atienza. “We’re hoping for another successful season with FCBL.”
