LA Salle coach Aldin Ayo admitted to getting goose bumps coaching the Green Archers for the first time on national television on Saturday in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup.
The Green Archers made their debut in the preseason tournament on Saturday against Adamson where his new team came away with a big win over the Falcons in San Juan.
Although it was only a preseason game, it was the first game of significance for Ayo after moving to La Salle from Letran, which he led to the NCAA Season 91 crown.
Ayo admitted he felt uneasy the night before he coached for the first time on national television.
“Actually, kagabi hindi ako nakatulog,” said Ayo.
Although he has been holding the job for four months already and handling the team in different preseason tournaments, Ayo said Saturday was a different feeling because it was the first time he coached in front of a television audience.
“Before ako natulog, tinignan ko ’yung mga post simula ngayon at ’yung hanggang Letran kasi after this, alam ko na everything will be different. Nasa likod na ‘yun. It’s a different challenge for us, especially sa akin,” said Ayo.
