COLLEGIATE standouts and former PBA players see action in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 President's Cup on March 16 at SM Megamall.
UE's Alvin Pasaol, Adamson's Sean Manganti, La Salle's Santi Santillan, and Ateneo's Anton Asistio find themselves on the same side in 1Bataan.
La Salle playmaker Kib Montalbo will backstop Quezon City-Zark's Jawbreakers, as Troy Rike suits up for Pasig-Grindhouse Kings, together with Fil-Ams Joshua Munzon and Taylor Statham.
Also playing for Pasig will be Dylan Ababou, while Ronjay Buenafe and Carlo Lastimosa have been enlisted by Manila Stars.
Mac Cardona and John Wilson will play for San Juan Knights-Go for Gold, Paulo Hubalde joins Valenzuela Classic, Jondan Salvador leads Marikina Shoemasters, Gab Banal carries Bacoor Strikers, and Vigan Baluarte Zoo took in Karl Dehesa and Joshua Webb.
Also part of the 12-team field are Bulacan Kuyas, and South sides Cebu Max4 Birada and Zamboanga Valientes.
Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascarinas was amazed with the level of talent the league drew in only its maiden staging.
"Definitely I was surprised with the quality of players we have attracted. We expect intense, close games in all legs of the President's Cup as we witness the future of 3x3 take shape," he said.
The winner of the President's Cup Grand Final will have a chance to represent the country in a future leg of the Fiba 3x3 World Tour aside from the P1 million cash prize.
"The tournament is a big help for the players that will get to represent the country," said League commissioner Eric Altamirano. "When you play 3x3 all year round, it's easy for them to familiarize with the rules."
