ADAMSON booked a ticket to the Final Four of the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup, manhandling a depleted San Sebastian squad, 81-61, on Monday in San Juan.
Congolese big man Lenda Douanga showed the way for the Soaring Falcons with 17 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks, as Jerom Lastimosa got 14 points, three assists and two rebounds.
Simon Camacho had 11 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, while rookie AP Manlapaz scored 11.
"Today, we just had to take care of business. We know very well that San Sebastian is shorthanded," said coach Franz Pumaren as Adamson reached the semifinals of the summer tourney for the first time ever.
"So far, this is the highest what Adamson has achieved in Filoil. We achieved something new for Adamson and at least, this is a testament to our program that we are in the right direction."
Adamson broke away in the third frame, using a 24-point outburst to turn a close 38-31 lead to a 15-point edge, 62-47 entering the payoff period.
The Soaring Falcons face either San Beda or Far Eastern University.
San Sebastian played without Allyn Bulanadi, who is still nursing a dislocated right shoulder, while RK Ilagan suffered an apparent leg injury in the first half.
Jessie Sumoda and Alex Desoyo had 12 points each for San Sebastian. With reports from Andrew Mencias
