ADAMSON defeated Letran, 83-80, to kick off its campaign in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Cup on a high note at The Arena in San Juan on Tuesday.
Sean Manganti scored 20 points while Papi Sarr added 13 and Jerrick Ahanmisi had 11 for the Falcons, who got away with the win despite what coach Franz Pumaren rued as a lack of aggressiveness.
“We cannot afford to have a flat start, but I guess that’s part of the growing pains of being a young team,” Pumaren said.
“We’re still in the learning process,” he added. “We’re relatively a young team, getting the right chemistry.”
Bong Quinto finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds for Letran, while John Calvo had 17, Jerrick Balanza and Jeo Ambohot each had 12 and Edison Batiller chipped in 11.
The Knights slid to 2-2 in Group B.
