ADAMSON dealt St. Benilde its first defeat in the 2018 Chooks-to-Go Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup with an 80-60 rout on Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Sean Manganti went bonkers from downtown, going 3-of-5 from beyond the arc to wound up with 17 points, while also hauling down nine rebounds, and dishing out five assists.
Jerome Lastimosa also pumped in 13 points, five dimes, and three steals, as Jerrick Ahanmisi got 11 markers.
The San Marcelino crew jumped on an 18-8 first quarter attack to set the tone for the game and preserved the lead until the final buzzer.
Not helping was the ankle sprain suffered by Yankie Haruna in the third quarter, taking out another key cog for the Blazers which were already missing hardworking forward Justin Gutang.
Adamson forced a three-way tie for the leadership of Group B with St. Benilde and FEU, all of which carry identical 5-1 records.
Kendrix Belgica fired 18 points, while Clement Leutcheu had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Blazers.
