ADAMSON prevailed in an endgame battle of mini-rallies, beating Perpetual Help, 79-78, on Wednesday in the Filoil Flying V Pre-Season Hanes Cup at the Arena in San Juan.

From an 11-point deficit, 51-62, at the end of third, the Falcons came alive in the final period and launched a 13-2 blast to tie the game, 64-all.

The Altas answered with a 12-4 spurt to snatch the lead, 76-68.

Rodney Brondial and Ingrid Sewa led a 7-0 Adamson rally to inch closer, 75-76.

With Adamson down by one, 77-78, with 3.3 seconds remaining Ryan Monteclaro drained a pair of free throws after a Chris Elopre foul for the final count.

"Last shot before ako ma-foul tinignan ko 'yung score, sabi ko kay Jericho (Cruz), tignan mo lang ako open ako sa corner," said Monteclaro. "Ayun swerte ako na hinanap niya ako."

"Yung foul shot ko kasi sign of composure ng team," he added. "At ayoko mapahiya ang team ko."
