ADAMA Diakhite had 15 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks as Diliman College defeated Centro Escolar University, 69-55, on Wednesday in the 2018 Smart-Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Summer Tournament at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy.
Diakhite, who is being recruited by University of the East, chalked up a double-double, joining Jose Rizal University and National University as opening day winners.
Nico Abatayo had 19 points as the Bulldogs beat Olivarez College, 84-74, while Leonardo Esguerra had 19 points as the Heavy Bombers won over University of Santo Tomas, 93-87.
The Heavy Bombers spoiled the effort of Sherwin Concepcion, who had 38 points and 10 rebounds for the Growling Tigers.
Former La Salle cager Brent Paraiso also made his UST debut, finishing with 17 points for the Growling Tigers.
