ADAMA Diakhite finished with 20 points as Diliman College claimed its second straight win after beating AMA Online Education, 74-67, on Thursday night in the 2017 Republica Cup college division at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center.
Diakhite’s presence lifted the Blue Dragons to a 2-1 win-loss record in the tournament honoring the historic Malolos Republic.
A putback by Diakhite put Diliman College ahead, 72-60, with 3:26 left in the contest and put the game out of reach.
Rickson Guerrero had 14 points, while Joseph Brutas chipped in 13 points for Diliman College, which is just behind unbeaten teams University of the Philippines (2-0) and University of Santo Tomas (1-0) in the standings.
Jay Macaranas had 15 points, while Jayson Jordan contributed 14 for AMA, which fell to 0-2.
