JAMES Kwekuteye is turning pro and will be playing for the Zamboanga Valientes in the 2023 Asean Basketball League (ABL) Invitational.
The San Beda guard signed with the Valientes late Friday night, marking the next chapter in his career.

Kwekuteye led the Red Lions to the NCAA Season 98 seniors basketball Final Four, posting 15.4 points on 29-percent shooting from deep 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals to earn a spot in the Mythical Team.
The Fil-Canadian scorer joins fellow Red Lion Kemark Carino with the Valientes.
Carino had a brief stint with Pegasus Brunei in Malaysia.
The 6-foot-8 center played for Marinerong Pilipino in the 2022 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup where he averaged 6.5 points on 40-percent shooting from the field, on top of 6.2 boards and 2.9 blocks.
The Zamboanga lineup also has controversial Jose Rizal University forward John Amores.
Former Terrafirma import Antonio Hester is expected to lead the squad together with old reliables Reed Juntilla, Gino Jumao-as, and Das Esa.
