SINGAPORE -The Westports Malaysia Dragons go for a date with history as they try to clinch the 2015-2016 Asean Basketball League (ABL) crown on Sunday against the embattled Singapore Slingers at the OCBC Arena.

Game Four of the title series starts at 4 p.m. and will be aired in the Philippines live via Basketball TV.

The Dragons move are on the cusp of their first-ever league championship after beating the Slingers, 90-72, in Game Three in front of a sold-out crowd here Friday night.

Filipino Ariel Vanguardia, the long-time coach of the Dragons, hopes the series ends on Sunday, although he’s aware the Slingers are raring to bounce back and to force a Game Five on Black Saturday at the MABA Stadium in Malaysia.

“It’s hard to tell (if we’re going to win Game Four),” said Vanguardia. “We got to limit our mistakes.”

“They (Slingers) got hurt today (Friday) and they’ll be going to come back just like in MABA when they won Game One. We got hurt, but we got back. Same thing in Game Four.”

Xavier Alexander and Justin Howard are out to redeem themselves from a lackluster Game Three performance when they combine for only 18 points, including a measly five from Howard, despite his 12-rebound effort.

Alexander also fouled out in the contest, leaving Wu Qingde and Fil-American Kris Rosales to take the cudgels for the Slingers in a losing cause.

The Dragons are again expected to lean on import Reggie Johnson, Calvin Godfrey, and Best Asean import Matthew Wright to lead the way, although Vanguardia is also expecting a lot from his local crew.
