SAN Miguel will face the Sports Rev Thailand Slammers in the Asean Basketball League after the Singapore Slingers lost to Indonesia Warriors, 53-63, on Tuesday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium
The Slingers’ defeat helped the Slammers clinch the No. 4 spot regardless of the result of their final elimination round game against the Saigon Heat on Wednesday in Bangkok.
Thailand owns a 7-14 win-loss slate followed by Singapore with a 7-15 card but the Slammers will have the upperhand in case of a tie due to a 3-2 win-loss record in their head-to-head match-up this year.
The Beermen will have homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs after clinching the top spot in the standings.
Game One of the best-of-five semifinals between the Beermen and the Slammers will start on May 23 at 8 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Game Two is on May 25 before the series heads to Bangkok for Games Three and, if necessary, Four on May 28 and 30. The do-or-die Game Five is slated June 3 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The other semifinal pairing will pit No. 2 and defending champion Indonesia Warriors against third-ranked Westports Malaysia Dragons.
