    Skipping draft worth it as Parks hits crucial 3 in Alab OT win vs CLS Knights

    SAN Miguel Alab Pilipinas picked up its second straight victory after beating CLS Knights in overtime, 88-80, on Sunday in the Asean Basketball League at the GOR Basket Kertajaya in Surabaya, Indonesia.

    Renaldo Balkman had 36 points and 12 rebounds, while PJ Ramos had 25 points and 11 rebounds for Alab.

    Bobby Ray Parks had 10 points and hit a big three-point basket with 1:16 left in the extra period to give Alab an 82-78 lead. Parks’ crucial three came on the day he was officially drafted by Blackwater in the first round in the PBA Rookie Draft.

    Alab won the match to follow its 94-67 win over CLS Knights on December 9 at home in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

    CLS forced overtime after Wong Wei Long scored on a lay-up with 34 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 75. Ramos missed a lay-up and Wong failed to hit on a three to extend the match.

    Alab will next face the Formosa Dreamers on Friday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.
