SAN Miguel Alab Pilipinas looks to extend its winning run to seven games when it faces CLS Knights Indonesia on Sunday in the Asean Basketball League at the GOR CLS Kertajaya in Surabaya, Indonesia.
Alab also eyes its sixth win on the road in the 7 p.m. match (8 p.m. Manila time).
The Philippine-based squad is in third place with a 9-4 card, while the Knights are in seventh with a 3-9 card.
San Miguel is fresh from an 86-84 win over Mono Vampire Basketball Club at home in Baliwag, Bulacan.
With a loaded schedule, Alab coach Jimmy Alapag noted the importance of rest.
“We’ve played eight or nine games in the last four weeks. I know our guys are feeling it physically and mentally. We just have to find ways. I’m doing my best along with the coaches to help these guys recover and stay fresh,” said Alapag.
Alab won its first match with CLS, 92-87, on Jan. 20, and Alapag is bracing for another tight match.
“Indonesia is playing better. They have Shane Edwards, a former PBA import, and they got Keith Jensen, who is another solid pro,” Alapag said.A
