Saigon Heat proves steady in overtime to repeat over Standhardinger-led Hong Kong

SAIGON Heat beat Hong Kong Eastern in overtime, 118-115, on Sunday night in the Asean Basketball League at the CIS Arena in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Heat improved to 5-5, as the Christian Standhardinger-led Hong Kong Eastern suffered only its second loss in 11 outings.

Akeem Scott led the Heat with 38 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and six steals for the Heat, who evened their record to 5-5.

Fil-Am Michael Williams waxed hot with five triples to finish with 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Heat, who also dealt Hong Kong its first loss last month.

Saigon spoiled a big game from Standhardinger, who had 31 points and 18 rebounds in a losing cause.

Marcus Elliott and Tyler Lamb added 29 and 26 markers, respectively, for Hong Kong.
