ALAB Pilipinas slumped to their second straight defeat after bowing to the Saigon Heat, 78-74, on Sunday in the Asean Basketball League at the CIS Arena in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Philippine-based side lost another tight game as they fell to 8-6 but remained in third place in the team standings.
It was a big win for Saigon, which now moved to fourth place with a 5-8 win-loss slate.
Alab import Sampson Carter had 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Bobby Ray Parks chipped in 14 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Philippine squad but their efforts were not enough as they suffered another loss after bowing to the Westports Malaysia Dragons last week.
Lenny Daniel led Saigon’s attack with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks as the Heat took a 37-26 lead at the half.
Moses Morgan added 20 points while Anthony Jordan-Luis Henriquez-Roberts added 13 points and 13 rebounds for Saigon, which has won its second straight game against Alab this season.
Saigon lost a big lead after Alab outscored the Heat, 27-16, in the third period.
