BOBBY Ray Parks announced his return to San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in a big way, guiding the home squad to a 111-87 dismantling of Saigon Heat on Sunday in the 2019 Asean Basketball League (ABL) at the Lapu-Lapu Sports Complex in Cebu.

The reigning two-time ABL Local MVP hardly showed any rust after a long injury layoff as he unloaded 16 of his 23 points in the first half to anchor an early 31-15 onslaught for Alab that set the tone right in the opening frame.

He also dished out seven assists, as well as collecting two rebounds and a steal.

Alab also remained perfect at 10-0 at home after its second conquest in the Queen City of the South. The Philippine squad also stayed at the top of the standings at 12-2 after their sixth straight win.

Parks, who missed the last three outings due to a groin injury, also gained a piece of history by becoming the 16th member of ABL's 1,000-point club with his triple at the 3:57 mark of the first quarter.

PJ Ramos continued to be a hulking presence down low for the home team with 30 points, 18 rebounds, and four assists, while fellow World Import Renaldo Balkman got himself 29 points, seven boards, five dimes, and a rejection in the win.

Ethan Alvano got a solid statline of seven points, seven assists, four assists, and two steals, as Lawrence Domingo and Josh Urbiztondo had six apiece in the first meeting between the two squads since Alab swept the Heat in two games in last year's quarterfinals.

Alab looked poised to break away from the visitors after holding a 21-point edge, 51-30 late in the second quarter.

Trevon Hughes and Chris Dierker, though, brought the Heat back to life by scoring 36 points in the third quarter that got the visitors within eight a number of times.

But with Saigon knocking on the door at 81-73, the trio of Parks, Balkman, and Ramos conspired to douse the rally before Urbiztondo delivered the dagger three, 103-81, in the last four minutes of the game.
