JACK O’Brien, an American who has been living in the Philippines for four years, stood out in the scrum of fans lining up for autographs from Alab Pilipinas players after Game Two of the Asean Basketball League (ABL) Finals on Wednesday at the Sta. Rosa Mullti-Purpose Complex.

But as soon as he got Bobby Ray Parks’ autograph, the fan did something intriguing. He started crying, his eyes welling up.

Approached by SPIN.ph, the American shared that he couldn’t help but feel emotional after getting that rare chance to meet his long-time idol.

“I will never forget this experience,” said O’Brien.

Though an American, O’Brien said he is an avid fan of Parks as well as Philippine basketball. He even wore a Parks jersey in a Denver Nuggets game during his recent return to the United States.
