SAN Miguel Alab Pilipinas got its retribution on Friday night, waylaying Westports Malaysia Dragons, 85-47, to extend its winning run to three in the 2019 Asean Basketball League (ABL) at Sta. Rosa Multipurpose Complex.
PJ Ramos was unstoppable down low with his 25 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks as the Philippine side exacted a measure of revenge against the team that dealt it a first loss this season.
The hulking Ramos scored 13 of the first 21 points in that sensational third quarter, when the hosts pulled away to a 50-20 spread at the 6:28 mark. He savored the luxury of sitting out the fourth quarter.
Renaldo Balkman added 13 points, seven boards, five assists, and a steal while Paolo Javelona stepped up with 11 points, three assists, and two rebounds off the bench for an Alab side that missed the services of Bobby Ray Parks.
Winston Shepard paced the Dragons with 12 points on an atrocious 4-of-21 shooting from the field, to go with five rebounds. Chris Eversley had 10 points, eight boards, and two assists as Malaysia fell to 5-6.
Jonathan Wong, the hero from the two squads' last meeting, was held to just five points.
