TANDUAY Alab Pilipinas seeks to atone for a loss in its Asean Basketball League (ABL) season debut when it faces off against the Singapore Slingers on Wednesday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Laguna.

Alab enters the 8 p.m. match looking to bounce back from its defeat against Hong Kong Eastern, 92-89, in its home opener on November 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Singapore is also looking for its first win after going 0-2 on Sunday following its 77-66 loss to CLS Knights Indonesia at home at the OCBC Arena.

Head coach Jimmy Alapag rued the play of Alab in the first half against the Christian Standhardinger-led Hong Kong Eastern, but saw his side keep the game close in the second half.

“I was pleased with our effort in the second half. Kailangan, not just 20 minutes. It has to be a 40-minute effort,” said Alapag.

Reggie Okosa had 28 points and 12 rebounds for Alab in the loss to Hong Kong, but will need support particularly from Ivan Johnson, who fouled out in the fourth canto. The former PBA import finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds in the match .

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Josh Urbiztondo were also key players for Alab’s locals against Hong Kong.
