Balkman, Brownlee look to sustain Alab momentum in away game vs Slingers

TANDUAY Alab Pilipinas guns for its third straight win on Sunday in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) in an away game against the Singapore Slingers at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.

Game time is at 4 p.m.

The Philippine-based squad got off to a good start to the year, beating the Westports Malaysia Dragons, 90-79, on Wednesday at home behind the smashing debuts of imports Justin Brownlee and Renaldo Balkman.

Brownlee scored 29 points while Balkman had 17 points and 11 rebounds against the Dragons as Alab improved won its second straight game following a 0-3 start.

Expect an animated Filipino crowd at the OCBC Arena as two popular imports play their second game with Alab Pilipinas.

Brownlee and Balkman have had more time practising with Alab after arriving in the country right in the morning of game day against the Dragons.

The Slingers, who hold a 3-4 win-loss record, also made an import change, acquiring veteran ABL import Chris Charles to banner the team and join Xavier Alexander.

The Slingers took the first game in their season series against Alab, beating their hosts, 97-83, last November 29 at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.

Singapore will again play Alab Pilipinas on Wednesday, this time, at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
