Renaldo Balkman, Fil-Am McKinney earn ABL individual honors for second straight week

RENALDO Balkman once again captured the World Import Player of the Week for helping San Miguel Alab Pilipinas sustain its resurgence in the Asean Basketball League.

Balkman was adjudged as the Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after averaging 33.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks in two games last week for Alab.

With his performance, Alab has won seven straight games and now holds the third spot with a 10-4 mark

The pair of victories came at the expense of Mono Vampire on Wednesday where he scored the game-winning lay-up on Alab’s way to an 86-84 win in Baliwag, Bulacan.

Balkman, who finished with 31 points and 13 rebounds in the game, also had a splendid job defending Mono’s 7-foot-5 import Samuel Deguara.

As an encore, Balkman finished with 36 points and 10 rebounds in Alab’s road win over CLS Knights Indonesia over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Mikhael McKinney was named Heritage Import Player of the Week for the third straight time.

The Chong Son Kung Fu Fil-American guard averaged 23 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 67 percent from three-point range last week.
