REIL Cervantes is taking his act to the Asean Basketball League (ABL) after being acquired by the Westports Malaysia Dragons, according to the team's official website.

Selected ninth overall in the 2011 PBA rookie draft by Barangay Ginebra, the former Far Eastern University standout also played for Barako Bull, Kia, and Blackwater in a journeyman PBA career.

"I look forward to having great games with the team, and hope to have an injury-free season," said Cervantes in an interview posted by the Dragons' website.

After playing limited minutes with Ginebra and Barako Bull, Cervantes averaged 11.9 points (2014-2015) and 10.7 points (2015-2016) in his final two seasons with Kia and Blackwater.

The Dragons will open the season against Mono Vampire on November 25 in Bangkok.
