RAYMAR Jose of the Kaohsiung Truth was named Player of the Week by the Asean Basketball League for his stellar play that helped the ABL newcomer win two wins out of its three games last week.

The former Far Eastern University big man was on a roll for Truth last week, capping it off with a season-high 22-point performance in a 94-86 win over the Westports Malaysia Dragons last Sunday.

Jose beat out Saigon’s Lenny Daniel, Hong Kong’s Marcus Elliot, and Singapore’s Ng Han Bin for the weekly award.

A late addition to the Kaohsuing lineup, Jose began the week with a 16-point, six-rebound performance for the Truth in a lopsided 85-71 win over the Saigon Heat last Wednesday.

Thanks to Jose’s effort, the Truth are now within reach of the semifinals as they improved to 4-7 (win-loss), good for fourth place in the team standings.
