MONO Vampire booked a date with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) finals after completing a semis sweep over Chong Son Kung Fu with a thrilling 83-80 win on Wednesday at Stadium 29 in Bangkok.

Towering center Sam Deguara scored the game winner as he completed a three-point play off a feed from Jason Brickman with two seconds left in the game.

Kung Fu never had a chance in the last possession as the home squad survived even after losing a 15-point lead and trailing by nine early in the fourth.

Game One of the best of five ABL finals will be on Sunday at the Sta. Rosa Multipurpose Complex. Alab, being the third seed, has homecourt advantage.

It will be the first time that a Philippine team and a Thai squad will meet in the finals since the inaugural season when the Chang Thailand Slammers swept the Philippine Patriots.

Fil-Am guard Brickman led Mono with 23 points and nine assists as Mike Singletary also added 23 markers and 13 boards. Deguara had 19 points and 19 rebounds.

Justin Howard powered Kung Fu with 25 points and 15 rebounds while heritage import Mike Mckinney added 20. Energetic forward Caelan Tiongson missed the game due to concussion.
