Mono Vampire deals Hong Kong third straight loss to keep bid for outright ABL semis spot alive

MONO Vampire Basketball Club beat slumping Hong Kong Eastern, 119-111, on Thursday night in the Asean Basketball League at the Southorn Stadium in Hong Kong.

Mike Singletary had 36 points and eight rebounds in a big win for Mono Vampire, which regained solo third place over San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the team standings with a 13-6 mark.

Hong Kong continued to struggle, losing its third straight game to fall to second place with a 12-5 card. Chong Son Kung Fu, which has won four straight games, climbed to first place at 13-5 following Hong Kong’s loss.

Samuel Deguara had 27 points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks, while Filipino import Paul Zamar had 23 points, six assists, and two steals for Mono Vampire, which is still in contention for one of the two outright semifinal berths that go to the top two teams at the end of the elimination round.

Tyler Lamb had 32 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and six steals, as Marcus Elliott had 29 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. Christian Standhardinger had 27 points for Hong Kong.
