Chong Son Kung Fu repeats over Hong Kong to boost bid for outright ABL semis spot

CHONG Son Kung Fu defeated Hong Kong Eastern, 87-76, on Tuesday night in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) at the Nanhai Stadium.

Fil-American Mikhael McKinney led the way again for Chong Son, finishing with 26 points to extend their win run to four.

Chong Son also capped off its home assignments unbeaten, going 10-0 for the regular season and also improving its record to 13-5, cementing its hold of second place.

The top two teams at the end of the elimination round will get an outright semifinal seat.

Hong Kong has lost its second straight game, all at the hands of Chong Son, but remained in first place with a 12-4 slate.

In its winning streak, Chong Son defeated Mono Vampire, 113-95; Hong Kong Eastern, 94-85; and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, 92-79.

Justin Howard had 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Anthony Tucker added 14 points for Chong Son.

Christian Standhardinger had 24 points and 12 rebounds for Hong Kong Eastern.
