Samuel Deguara stands tall in slim win over Slingers as Mono Vampire gets back on track

MONO Vampire Basketball Club beat Singapore, 91-88, on Friday night in the Asean Basketball League at the OCBC Arena in Singapore.

Mono atoned for its home loss to Tanduay Alab Pilipinas in its previous match with a hard-earned road win to improve its record to 7-4.

Samuel Deguara, Mono’s 7-foot-6 import, had 26 points and 18 rebounds, Mike Singletary also had 26, and Filipino reinforcement Paul Zamar added 13 points for the Thailand-based Mono squad.

Xavier Alexander added 29 points for the Slingers, who slipped to sixth place with a 5-6 record.
