SAN MIGUEL suffered another blow in what has so far been a hard-luck ABL season after Erik Menk suffered a fractured nose that will keep him out of action for a month.
San Miguel sports director Noli Eala said the former PBA MVP suffered the injury during the Beermen's 66-55 win over the Singapore Slingers last Sunday.
“Erik Menk suffered a fractured nose in Singapore. He will be operated asap and will be out for a month,” Eala wrote on his Twitter account @NoliEala.
Eala also posted a picture of Menk having his nose treated by doctors.
Menk’s injury came after import Brian Williams injured his knee during their outing against the Westports Malaysia Dragons. Williams has been replaced by former San Mig Coffee import Matt Rogers.
However, fellow reinforcement Gabe Freeman will be out in their next game against the Dragons on Saturday after being slapped with a one-game suspension for elbowing Singapore’s Desmond Ho on Saturday.
The Beermen are hoping to win their first back-to-back game against the Dragons and improve on their 4-3 win-loss slate.
