ANTIPOLO - Jimmy Alapag insisted there is no format offer for him to serve as playing-coach of new ABL team Alab ng Pilipinas, saying everything about it is mere speculation at this point.

Citing information from sources which was confirmed by an official of Alab's top corporate backer Tanduay, SPIN.ph reported on Saturday that the former Gilas captain is being eyed for the job.

Alapag, however, said there has been no formall offer from the team, whose co-owners - Charlie Dy and Dondon Monteverde - happen to be his managers.

"No, that's all speculation. My focus right now is with Meralco," Alapag told SPIN.ph after Meralco disposed of Mahindra, 105-82, in the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals at the Ynares Sports Center.

"There's been no formal offer. It's all been a hearsay at this point," he added.

Right now, the veteran guard said his focus is on helping the Bolts reach the finals of the season-ending conference at the expense of sister team TNT Katropa.

Their best-of-five semifinal series begins on Tuesday.

"It feels good (to be back in the semifinals)," said Alapag, who won multiple championships with TNT. "But it looks like we will have our hands full (because) both teams are playing well especially Talk 'N Text."
