    Jason Brickman considers comparisons of his game to Jimmy Alapag an 'awesome compliment'

    JASON Brickman and Mono Vampire might be in a heated battle in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) finals, but that doesn't mean the mutual respect between them and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas goes out the window. 

    Brickman was actually humbled upon hearing major compliments from Alab Pilipinas head coach Jimmy Alapag who earlier said that the Fil-American playmaker will be 'one of the best point guards in the PBA' should he decide to play in the Philippine pro league.

    "It’s an awesome compliment from him. He was a great point guard in the PBA and he’s doing a great job coaching this team. You can tell he really knows the game, he makes great gameplans," said Brickman, who's averaging 15 points and 12.5 assists in the series so far.

    For years, Brickman was told that that he plays a lot like the former Gilas Pilipinas captain and to hear that from him definitely means a lot. 

    "It's an awesome compliment to get from him. I always heard about his name, growing up in the States, they’ve been telling me I play like him. To get that compliment, it’s just awesome," he added.

      The 26-year-old Brickman admitted that he hasn't seen many of Alapag's games growing up in the US, but he’s seen enough to know how big of a deal Alapag is in the country. 

      "I haven’t seen many games of his but I’ve seen some highlights. The game against Korea, I saw some highlights but everyone has great things to say about him and he’s loved by the Philippine fans so nothing but respect for him," he said
