TANDUAY Alab Pilipinas import Ivan Johnson was reduced to a spectator in the team’s first win this season at the expense of the Formosa Dreamers due to a back injury.

Team owner Charlie Dy said Johnson was not fielded by head coach Jimmy Alapag due to back spasms, three days after their loss to Hong Kong Eastern.

Johnson was unable to play after finishing with an ABL-best 30 points during Wednesday’s 99-96 loss to Hong Kong Eastern at the Southorn Stadium.

After the collapse to Hong Kong, though, Johnson was spotted by TV cameras being involved in a commotion as teammates tried to pacify the situation. Johnson was reportedly going after Fil-German Christian Standhardinger during the commotion.

Yet even without Johnson, Alab players stepped up led by import Reggie Okosa, Ray Parks Jr., and Josh Urbiztondo as the Philippine-based squad beat the Formosa Dreamers on the road, 78-61.
